Position Summary/Description:
The School of Information and Library Science (SILS) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites nominations and applications for a tenure-track faculty position of Associate or Full Professor open rank to join our internationally recognized faculty.
We seek an engaged and energetic colleague with an outstanding record of scholarship in archives and records management (ARM), broadly construed. Successful applicants can investigate any area of ARM, including but not limited to:
* Archival functions (e.g. acquisition, appraisal, records management, description, investigation, public outreach) * Archival policy and ethics (e.g. privacy, intellectual property, cultural property, indigenous rights, public records access) * History and standards of the archival profession and memory institutions * Tools and systems for recordkeeping and digital curation (design, development, evaluation) * Cultural memory and issues of representation * Community and participatory archives * International and comparative archivistics * Archival engagement with and among specific populations * Curation of particular documentary forms (e.g. film, social media, rare books) * Archival user communities and user needs
