The starting salary range for this position is $155,843 - $181,816 depending on experience. An exceptional candidate may be eligible to receive a starting salary slightly above range with approvals. There is an attractive benefits package and relocation assistance.
The City of Charlotte is seeking an Airport Operations Director – Regulatory Compliance for the Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) to provide strategic oversight for regulatory compliance across airside and security operations. This critical leadership position ensures adherence to Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) Part 139, TSA 1542, and other aviation safety mandates. The position oversees the contractual partnership with the Charlotte Fire Department to ensure the effective delivery of Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) services at the airport. The Director oversees training standardization, operational audits, performance metrics, and readiness testing, working closely with federal agencies including the FAA, TSA, and CBP to uphold the airport’s safety and compliance standards. Bachelor’s degree and seven (7) years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree and five (5) years. Minimum of three (3) years in a supervisory or leadership role.
