DEA Compliance Lead: Front-Line Compliance Support
Are you a meticulous, organized individual with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for ensuring regulatory compliance? Do you thrive in a role where your work directly contributes to public safety and operational integrity? We're searching for a dedicated DEA Compliance Lead to join our team and play a critical role in managing high-risk orders and maintaining strict regulatory adherence.
In this position you'll be on the front lines, ensuring every order meets necessary requirements, providing support to our customers and maintaining critical records. This is a strictly administrative role with no access to product or inventory. If you're ready to apply your expertise in a vital and impactful role, we want to hear from you!
What You'll Be Doing:
· Critical Order Review: Validate orders containing controlled substances, reviewing them to guarantee full compliance with both regulatory guidelines and internal company standards. You'll be a first line of defense while escalating non-conforming orders or red flags for further review.
· Essential Customer Support: Be a resource for our customers for matters related to controlled substance, assisting them with inquiries related to purchasing, order status, and the Controlled Substance Ordering System (CSOS). You'll guide them through CSOS processes and troubleshoot any ordering issues.
· Meticulous Recordkeeping: Maintain comprehensive and accurate records for all controlled substance orders, including receipts, invoices and shipping documents. Your organizational skills will play a significant role while maintaining sensitive DEA 222 forms and other essential regulatory documentation.
· Ongoing Compliance Support: Lend vital support to our compliance efforts by assisting with foundational tasks like tracking controlled substance cycle counts and preparing reports for internal audits. You'll work closely with the Director of Controlled Substance to ensure continuous compliance with DEA and state regulations.
· Key Communication: Serve as a critical point of contact that bridges communication between customers and internal teams regarding controlled substance orders, and escalating issues as appropriate. You'll also help disseminate important compliance-related updates or changes as directed by our compliance team.
If you're ready to leverage your precision and compliance knowledge to make a tangible impact in a role that values accuracy and responsibility, we encourage you to apply! Join us in working to uphold a safe and secure supply chain.
What You'll Bring:
· Experience & Education: 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting, with direct exposure to controlled substances. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification is strongly preferred. We also highly encourage candidates with a background in law enforcement and fraud detection to apply, as your unique perspective can be incredibly valuable.
· Regulatory Acumen: A solid foundational understanding of DEA regulations and the intricacies of controlled substance ordering processes. Understanding of CFR 1300 – End a plus.
· System Savvy: Familiarity with CSOS (Controlled Substance Ordering System) and DEA 222 forms is crucial.
· Sharp Skills: Possess strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational abilities, and excellent communication and customer service skills. You'll be proficient with computer systems, including order management platforms and Microsoft Office.
· Problem-Solving Mindset: The ability to follow instructions precisely and appropriately escalate issues when necessary, demonstrating sound judgment and critical thinking skills.
