The Division of Research, Innovation and Economic Development (RIED) is seeking applications for Senior Research Compliance Administrator at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX.
Reporting directly to the Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Economic Development (RIED), the Senior Research Compliance Administrator, under general direction, serves as a subject matter expert with regards to research compliance. Responsible for leading site visits, administering the evaluation of compliance matters, serving as a liaison with investigators for protocol submissions and documentation, leading training and development efforts and coordinates guideline and policy development.
RIED is located in Stephenville, Texas and the position may afford a hybrid work arrangements depending on the needs of the division. Normal work hours are Monday to Friday from 8AM to 5PM; or as work requirements indicate, which include afterhours, evenings, weekends, and some holidays. Must have the ability to work remotely at the request of the university in times of inclement weather or other special circumstances.
Responsibilities:
Develops and implements post approval monitoring programs, quality improvement programs, or other specialized programs as needed. This may include scheduling visits, reviewing approved protocols and relevant records, conducting on-site visits, and preparing reports for investigators and relevant review committee.
Leads site visits to ensure compliance with approved activity plans and applicable regulations.
Verifies that concerns or deficiencies noted during inspections, post approval monitoring visits, or quality improvement assessments are addressed in a timely manner. Helps develop corrective action plans and ensures deficiencies are corrected.
Conducts preliminary reviews of records, protocols and/or associated grant proposals to verify congruency.
Serves as a liaison with investigators and external stakeholders for protocol and compliance document submissions. Resolves issues during application processes.
Coordinates, plans, develops, and implements regulatory training activities including seminars, newsletters, and electronic communications, as needed.
Leads the preparation and delivering of trainings and presentations. Provides advanced training to investigators, other offices, and staff.
Administers policy and guideline development for committee review and approval.
Administers the maintenance of current SOPs and ensures processes are followed through periodic review with office procedures.
Maintains databases and prepares and distributes reports on training and compliance activities.
May supervise, train, and evaluate the work of other staff and/or student workers.
Stays abreast of research compliance best practices and all applicable institutional guidelines and federal regulations. Assists with accreditation activities as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
Education & Experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Preferred:
Knowledge of research compliance regulations governing human subjects research, vertebrate animals in research and teaching, and biosafety.
One or more research compliance certification: Export Compliance Professional (ECOP) Accreditation, Certified IRB Professional (CIP) or Certified Professional in IACUC Administration (CPIA), Certified Health Care Compliance.

Salary Range
The target base annual salary range is $80,370.00Â to $114,131.00 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
